Cenex Ampride in Humboldt Offering 25-Cent Discount on E15, E30 and E85
JOHNSTON, IOWA – Cenex Ampride in Humboldt, Iowa today announced it is offering substantial discounts on cleaner-burning ethanol blends like E30 and E85 for flex-fuel vehicles (FFV), as well as E15 for all 2001 and newer vehicles. The homegrown ethanol blends will be available for a 25-cent per gallon discount from 11:00 AM through 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 7, accompanied with several in-store promotions.
“E15 is already the lowest-cost fuel option for the majority of vehicles on the road today, and, through this special promotion, Cenex Ampride customers will be saving even more of their hard-earned money,” stated IRFA Managing Director Lucy Norton. “While all 2001 and newer vehicle owners can take advantage of this special pricing on E15, flex-fuel vehicle owners can also reap the benefits of this special discount on cleaner-burning fuels such as E30 and E85—that’s a win-win scenario for Humboldt-area motorists.”
Cenex Ampride in Humboldt is located at 1301 10th Ave., North. This promotion is sponsored by the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association (IRFA) and the Iowa Corn Growers Association (ICGA).
E15 is a blend of 15 percent ethanol and 85 percent gasoline that is now available at a significant discount to regular, unleaded gasoline at 31 locations in Iowa. E15 is approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for use in all 2001 and newer passenger vehicles, as well as flex-fuel vehicles (FFVs). Those vehicles account for 85 percent of fuel use in the United States. In order to offer E15 to non-FFVs, a retailer must register with the EPA. IRFA works with retailers to ensure they comply with all federal and state E15 regulations.
In Iowa, E85 is a fuel blend containing between 70 and 85 percent ethanol. E85 is currently sold at about 200 fueling sites in Iowa. E30 is a fuel blend containing 30 percent ethanol and 70 percent gasoline. E85 and E30 can be used in all flex-fuel vehicles (FFV). To determine if your vehicle can use E85 or E30, please check your owner’s manual, the vehicle’s fuel cap, or click here for a list of FFVs.
