Country Express Providing Northeast Iowa Motorists with 20-Cent Per Gallon Discount on All Renewable Fuels Blends

JOHNSTON, IOWA – Country Express today announced it is now offering low-cost, registered E15 to 2001 and newer vehicle owners in the Burr Oak-area. To introduce the new fuel offerings, Country Express is holding a renewable fuels grand opening celebration on Friday, April 10 from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM providing free lunch and offering a 20-cent per gallon discount on ethanol blends, including E15, E30, and E85, as well as biodiesel blends, such as B10, B20, B30 and B50.

“Burr Oak-area motorists will be pleased when they visit Country Express and see all of the low-cost, environmentally-friendly fuel options they have to choose from,” stated Iowa Renewable Fuels Association (IRFA) Managing Director Lucy Norton. “E15 is the most economical fuel for the majority of motorists on the road today, and higher ethanol blends save flex-fuel vehicle owners even more money. At the same time, the wide range of biodiesel blends being offered provides diesel motorists with even more cleaner-burning fuel options. Add to all of that a 20-cent per gallon discount on these fuels, and you have one heck of a deal!”

Country Express is located in Northeast Iowa at 3480 U.S. Hwy 52 in Burr Oak. This promotion is sponsored by the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association (IRFA), the Iowa Corn Growers Association (ICGA), and Homeland Energy Solutions.

E15 is a blend of 15 percent ethanol and 85 percent gasoline that is now available at a significant discount to regular, unleaded gasoline at 31 locations in Iowa. E15 is approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for use in all 2001 and newer passenger vehicles, as well as flex-fuel vehicles (FFVs). Those vehicles account for 85 percent of fuel use in the United States. In order to offer E15 to non-FFVs, a retailer must register with the EPA.  IRFA works with retailers to ensure they comply with all federal and state E15 regulations.
