Iowans Can Register for the Summit Taking Place January 19, 2016 in Altoona, Iowa
JOHNSTON, IOWA – Iowa Governor Terry Branstad and Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds will discuss Iowa’s leadership in the production and use of homegrown biofuels at the 10th Annual Iowa Renewable Fuels Summit on January 19, 2016 in Altoona, Iowa.
“Under Gov. Branstad’s proactive leadership, Iowa has become the nation’s number one renewable fuels producing state,” stated Iowa Renewable Fuels Association (IRFA) President Tom Brooks. “When you combine Gov. Branstad’s successful biofuels track-record with the fact he is the nation’s longest-serving Governor, we’re excited to have him provide his unique perspectives on biofuels at the upcoming Summit.”
The Summit is free to attend and open to the public. Registration is required. Registration deadline is January 12, 2016. The 10th Annual Iowa Renewable Fuels Summit will take place at The Meadows Conference Center at Prairie Meadows in Altoona, Iowa on Tuesday, January 19, 2016.

Iowa is the nation’s leader in renewable fuels production. Iowa has 43 ethanol refineries capable of producing 4 billion gallons annually, including nearly 55 million gallons of annual cellulosic ethanol production capacity. In addition, Iowa has 12 biodiesel facilities with the capacity to produce nearly 315 million gallons annually.
The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association was formed in 2002 to represent the state’s liquid renewable fuels industry. The trade group fosters the development and growth of the renewable fuels industry in Iowa through education, promotion, legislation and infrastructure development.
