JOHNSTON, IOWA – This Wednesday, August 29, Iowa farmers and biofuels supporters will rally at the Farm Progress Show to welcome U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue to Iowa and remind him of the importance of the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) and E15 to Iowa’s farm economy.

EPA has destroyed over two billion gallons of biofuels demand through small-refinery exemptions to the RFS while approval of year-round E15 has been put on hold. This Wednesday Iowa farmers will remind the Administration that farmers are hurting and increased demand for their crops through a robust RFS and year-round E15 would provide an immediate boost for sagging commodity prices.
