JOHNSTON, IOWA – Iowa Renewable Fuels Association Executive Director Monte Shaw is joining Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship Secretary Mike Naig for a press conference on Wednesday to discuss how granting pending small-refinery exemptions (SRE) would irreversibly undermine the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS).
Naig and Shaw will also respond to recent comments made by EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler regarding SREs, including that he is expecting to receive Department of Energy (DOE) recommendations on 2018 SRE applications within days. They will also discuss a letter Senator Chuck Grassley sent to DOE for more information on how SRE applications are evaluated.
